What is FinFable?

FinFable is a historical market replay trainer. It takes real market periods — crashes, rallies, policy shocks, panics and recoveries — and turns them into interactive scenarios you play candle-by-candle with simulated capital.

Instead of reading about market history, you live through it: prices move one bar at a time, information arrives in the order it did back then, and you commit to a decision before the next candle reveals what actually happened.

Every scenario ends with a structured review. An AI coach grades each decision, explains what the market was pricing at that moment, and shows what a more disciplined process would have done — so every replay becomes a lesson you can carry into the next one.

How a replay works

  1. 01

    Pick a scenario

Browse thousands of historical scenarios across stocks, forex, commodities and property — from the Great Depression era to the 2020s, filterable by market, country and event type.

  2. 02

    Decide bar by bar

The market replays one candle at a time on authentic data. At key decision points you choose how to act, managing position sizing and risk on a simulated account.

  3. 03

    Get coached

During and after each replay, an AI coach reviews your decisions: what was knowable at the time, what the crowd did, and how your reasoning holds up against the historical outcome.

  4. 04

    Track your growth

Grades, stats and decision history accumulate across replays, so discipline and judgment improve on the record — not just in memory.

Markets, countries and event types

Scenarios span 61 index families and instruments across 41 countries and regions, covering the 1970s to the 2020s — organized into 13 event types so you can train exactly the situations you want to be ready for.

Practice the days that break portfolios

The library is built around the moments that shaped modern markets: runaway booms, sudden crashes, currency shocks and the long recoveries in between. Every candle is authentic historical data from the actual period — not a synthetic curve — so the pressure you feel is proportioned the way real markets pressured real participants.

Each replay is a rehearsal. When a similar pattern begins to form in live markets — euphoria, denial, capitulation — you will already have felt it, decided under it, and reviewed your own behavior. That is the point of replay training: experience, compressed.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is FinFable?

An educational scenario trading simulator. FinFable replays real historical market periods with authentic data and lets you make decisions at key moments using simulated capital — no real money, no brokerage, no investment advice.

Is real money involved?

No. Every replay runs on simulated capital. You cannot deposit, withdraw or lose real money on FinFable, and nothing on the platform is a recommendation to buy or sell any asset.

Which markets and time periods are covered?

Stocks, forex, commodities and property across dozens of countries and regions — from the 1987 crash to the 2008 financial crisis and the 2020 pandemic crash, with new scenarios added continuously.

How long does a scenario take?

Most replays are designed to take roughly 15–30 minutes, depending on the number of candles and decision points in the scenario.

Do I need an account or a paid plan to start?

You can create a free account in seconds — no credit card needed. The free tier includes playable starter scenarios, and PRO or Elite memberships unlock the full library of thousands of scenarios.

How is this different from backtesting?

Backtesting optimizes a rule on past data. FinFable trains the human: you experience uncertainty bar-by-bar, commit to decisions under pressure, and get coached on process — discipline, risk and psychology — not just outcomes.

Is FinFable suitable for beginners?

Yes. Scenarios are graded from beginner to expert, the AI coach explains concepts as they appear, and simulated capital means every mistake is a free lesson.

What if I already know how the story ended?

Knowing the ending changes the training, not the value of it. Many scenarios cover episodes you have never lived through, and even on familiar ones the coach focuses on the decisions you made with what was knowable at each point — hindsight is easy, deciding in real time is the skill.

FinFable is an educational simulation. It is not a broker or an investment adviser, and nothing on the platform constitutes investment advice.
